Just returned from a 550 mile turnaround for two great rounds of golf at Jekyll. Bad weather snuffed out two other rounds, but a good time was had by all.
On the trip home, we discussed that within 30 minutes of Jackson Lake there are over a dozen golf courses. Many of these would be pleasing to the most discerning golfer.
With enjoyable & affordable nearby public courses charging under $30 to membership at Cannongate’s 20+ courses that are always in excellent condition, Jackson Lake has all the golf options anyone could want.
I personally enjoy a Cannongate membership with four great options nearby: Heron Bay in Locust Grove, Sun City east of Griffin, Ga. National in McDonough and River Forest near High Falls. All four have good food, excellent clubhouse & practice facilities and consistently well manicured fairways, greens, and bunkers.
No, we don’t have Cuscowilla or the Ritz on Jackson Lake, but we have an excellent selection of courses nearby at a fraction of the cost of those “fancy pants” courses at Oconee and Atlanta.
Come to Jackson Lake…You may never want to leave…Except for a quick 18.
